Gianni Jetzer has been appointed the new director of Kunstmuseum St. Gallen. He succeeds Roland Wäspe, who is retiring in November 2022, after more than three decades at the institution.

Most recently, Jetzer has worked as curator of Art Basel Unlimited, as well as a curator at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. From 2006 to 2013, he served as director at the Swiss Institute in New York, and prior to that was director of Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen.
