Who will she write to next?

A French postal worker and museum employee recently brought a little holiday miracle to a young girl from Nottinghamshire, England.

When eight-year-old Iris Corbett’s letter addressed to “somewhere in Paris, any house” arrived in the City of Lights, a postman had the bright idea to bring it to the Louvre. When museum staffers received the missive, asking about life in the French capital, they obliged her with some answers, the BBC reports.

The text from the letter follows:

Hello Iris,

We are the reception service at the museum of the Louvre and we were pleased to receive your letter. Here are some answers to your questions:

-what was it like when France lost against Portugal in the EU?

Well, we were a bit sad but you know, it’s just a game !

-does the Eiffel tower light up every night?

Yes, it does.

-What would you say was the most popular food in France?

“Coq au vin” is the national dish, but you can have all kind of meal in Paris.

Whenever you’re in Paris, come to the Louvre and be sure to see the nicest pieces of art !

Sincerely,

The staff.

“Kids have these fantastic, creative ideas; you follow them through and nothing happens,” Helena Tyce, Corbett’s mother, told the BBC. “I didn’t expect anything back, I really didn’t, we were so surprised and thrilled.”

According to Tyce, the family will head to Paris on the Eurostar the next time Corbett has a vacation from school.
