Tara Subkoff is reportedly seeking some $10 million in divorce proceedings from Swiss artist Urs Fischer in Manhattan’s family court.

The fashion designer, actress, and film director is displaying “avarice,” a source told the New York Post after witnessing a hearing earlier this month. The pair will appear in court again in October.

Subkoff has appeared in films like As Good as it Gets, The Last Days of Disco, and When the Bough Breaks, and she directed the 2015 film #Horror, which was screened at Gagosian Gallery (one of Fischer’s dealers). Before turning to directing, she co-founded the fashion line Imitation of Christ with Matt Damhave in Los Angeles in 2000.

The couple got married in October 2014, but by June of this year they were on the rocks; at that time, Subkoff told the Post that Fischer wasn’t present at the birth of their daughter, Grace George, the previous month.

Fischer, primarily known as a sculptor, has seen his works sell at auction for as much as $6.8 million. That’s the price fetched at Christie’s New York in 2011 by Untitled (Lamp/Bear) (2005–2006), a 23-foot-high bronze sculpture that merges a yellow teddy bear and a desk lamp. Some 14 of the artist’s works have sold at auction for north of $1 million. He’s had solo shows at venues from the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles to the Brant Art Foundation, in Connecticut, to Paris’s Centre Pompidou. Prominent collectors such as François Pinault, Dakis Joannou, and Peter Brant have bought his works.
